All fields would benefit from making media related to the content at hand immediately and easily accessible. History would have been brought more to life if one could have hovered over a picture of the trenches of World War I only to see the men suddenly rise up and go over the top, or anatomy made clearer with an animated look at the digestive system after hovering over a diagram.
Media still seems to be often treated as a luxury add-on in the classroom, and not a necessary element for building greater understanding, even with the ubiquity of mobile devices. AR provides another means of providing access to media in a structured and relevant way (no fumbling around on YouTube for appropriate videos) that hopefully encourages organizations to better incorporate media into school curricula and provides teachers with another reason to welcome mobile devices into the classroom.
