In a different class, my group went into student motivation and attention (http://psychologyandphenomenology.weebly.com/). AR and VR are both great ways to get students attention. Some researchers are calling the current way that students pay attention as hyper-attention, one of the benefits is the ability to multi-task. One of the side effects is difficulty in staying on one task for a long time. Having activities that involve movement and have students actively engage is great. While the initial gimmick might wear off, the ability to interact with objects at a student's own pace, own style, and bounce around from topic to topic at will is definitely something that improves upon traditional teaching. It is not that AR is the only tool, but any tool that gives students more control of their learning and an active participant will be better than sitting and writing notes. I wish it was more accessible within my school. Until it is, I will continue to get ready for the big day when technology is welcomed in.

There are so many platforms to choose from too! So if every student has access to a mobile device, it is actually quite easy to incorporate now.
