I think incorporation of scanning with AR is something that would really push AR into mainstream use. Scan something edit it and project it into AR would really be a huge step up from what we have now. We have scanning apps on our phones but they are pretty inconsistent and their editing software for the scans leaves a lot to be desired. AR is interesting but the requirements tech wise and lack of concrete apps for educational application in education are holding it back. All this is changing though and we are just starting to head into the jungle of AR. The companies that sort out how to develop it for mass consumption will control the entire market for educational use. I think the early adapters of this tech are already sorting out the bugs that are plaguing early use of this new frontier.
