I just think back to an Augment lesson I did last year where we created Fractured Fairytales in Grade 5. The students wrote their stories in a traditional manner in their books but placed a tracking marker at a part in the story where they could place an AR character. So when their partner would read the story they would see the tracking icon and draw their ipad over the icon to see some type of 3D character appear on the page. The reaction from my class was total engagement, even from reluctant writers who were keen to get to places in their story where they could see a visual representation. It is just the next step in incorporating technology into our traditional classrooms. The level of creativity and motivation AR can bring is something we should all be looking closely at in the coming years.

What a great way to include AR to engage readers!
